Introduction
Welcome to the Empress Dashboard guide! The Dashboard in Empress is a powerful tool that provides an overview of key performance indicators relevant to your business. It helps you monitor your business’s performance data in a visually appealing and easy-to-understand format.
Accessing the Dashboard
To access the Dashboard, you simply need to follow this path:
Home > Customization > Dashboards > Dashboard
Creating a New Dashboard
Creating a new dashboard in Empress is a straightforward process. Follow these steps:
- Go to the Dashboards List and click on New.
- Type in the Module Name for which you want to create the Dashboard.
- Add the Dashboard Charts that you want to include in this Dashboard.
- Click Save.
Once you’ve saved the dashboard, click on the Show Dashboard
button. You’ll now see a visual representation of your transactions.
Adding Charts to Your Dashboard
You can further customize your dashboard by adding charts. Choose from the existing Dashboard Chart
options or create new ones. Once you’ve made your additions and saved your changes, click on the Show Dashboard
button to see your updated dashboard.
Creating a New Dashboard Chart
Creating a new chart for your dashboard is a simple process:

Go to:
Home > Customizations > Dashboards > Dashboard Chart > New

Give your chart a name. This label will appear on the dashboard.

For the chart type, select
Custom
and choose aDashboard Chart Source
for the chart’s data source.
Note: Only the Administrator User in Developer Mode can create a new Dashboard Chart Source
.
Once you’ve selected the Chart Source field, the Filters table will update to show your selected filter values.
You can also create basic charts like Count/Sum/Average/Group By of ToDo based on creation/modified date by selecting the corresponding Chart Type
. Alternatively, you can use an existing report as a source in the Report Name
field to create a chart.
Using Your Dashboard
Each chart on your dashboard displays data according to the fields set in the corresponding Dashboard Chart. The data is cached to avoid redundant queries, and each chart will display the last synced time.
You can change the filters used to generate the chart data by clicking Set Filters
. The chart will automatically refresh to reflect your new filter settings.
To retrieve the most up-to-date data, each chart can be manually refreshed by clicking the Force Refresh button from the dropdown menu.
