Getting Started

To begin, navigate to the Income Tax Slab page using the following path:

Step 1: Creating an Income Tax Slab

To create a new Income Tax Slab:

  1. Provide a unique Name for the Income Tax Slab.
  2. Select the associated Company.
  3. Choose the Effective From date to specify when this slab should start applying.
  4. If relevant, check the Allow Tax Exemption box to enable tax exemptions.
  5. Save and submit the form.

Step 2: Defining Tax Slabs

In the Tax Slab section, you can establish the tax rates for different income levels. Specify the From Amount and To Amount to define each slab. The first slab doesn’t require a ‘From Amount’, and the last slab doesn’t need a ‘To Amount’.

You can also set specific conditions to apply the tax slab based on various factors such as employee age, gender, salary component or annual taxable income.

Step 3: Adding Other Taxes and Charges

If other taxes or charges apply to the calculated income tax, input these in the Other Taxes and Charges on Income Tax section. Here, you can also define the minimum and maximum taxable amounts for which these additional taxes will be applicable.

Step 4: Configuring Other Properties

  • Allow Tax Exemptions: If you enable this option, the system will consider the Employee Tax Exemption Declaration and Proof Submission when calculating taxes based on this tax slab.
  • Standard Tax Exemption Amount: If you allow exemptions, you can enter the Standard Tax Exemption Amount set by the government. This exemption doesn’t require any documents and applies to all employees linked to this income tax slab.
