Effortlessly Managing Empress Membership Types

Introduction

Welcome to our guide on Membership Types in Empress. This feature is a key component of our membership management system and is designed to help you organize and manage the different types of memberships within your organization. Whether your structure is simple or complex, you’ll find that Membership Types offer a flexible and effective way to sort and track your memberships.

For instance, you may only require one type of membership, or you might need to define several, such as ‘regular’, ‘student’, or ‘honorary’. You can even use Membership Types to manage subscriptions to different publications, whether they’re free or paid.

This guide will explain how to create, edit, and manage Membership Types, with a focus on practical application and user-friendly instructions.

Creating a New Membership Type

Here’s how to create a new Membership Type:

  1. Navigate to: Non Profit > Membership Type > New

This path will take you to a form where you can enter the details of your new Membership Type.

Configuring Membership Types

There are several key fields to consider when creating a new Membership Type:

Membership Type

This is the name of your Membership Type, which will appear throughout the Empress system. It’s important to choose a name that reflects the nature of the membership and is easily identifiable to both administrators and members. Don’t worry if you’re not sure about the name; you can always change it later.

Amount

This field is where you enter the cost associated with the Membership Type. If the membership is free, simply input 0. If there’s a cost, enter the exact amount here.

Linked Item

If you’ve enabled the ‘Enable Invoicing’ option in the Membership Settings, you’ll be able to link a billable service item to your Membership Type. This means you can invoice members for specific services related to their membership type.

By following these steps, you can set up and manage Membership Types in Empress with ease. This feature is a core part of our membership management system, helping you to organize and track your members in a way that suits your organization’s needs.

Remember, you can always revisit and edit your Membership Types as your organization evolves. Empress is designed to adapt to your requirements, providing a flexible and intuitive system to support your business operations.
