This feature is a powerful tool for managing your inventory in real-time, without having to manually enter item details. It’s accessible during Delivery Note, Sales Invoice, Purchase Receipt, and Stock Reconciliation transactions.
How to Configure Barcodes
To assign a barcode to a specific item in Empress, you first need to access the item’s record. This can be done either when you initially create the item or at any point afterward. Once the barcode field is updated in the item master, you can fetch items using their assigned barcodes.
Unit of Measure-Specific Barcodes
Empress also allows you to specify different barcodes for different packaging types of the same item. This means you can have unique barcodes for individual units and boxes of the same item. To activate this feature, select the appropriate Unit of Measure (UOM) in the Item Barcode table. The selected UOM will then be automatically chosen when scanning items.
Mobile Barcode Scanning
Empress supports the use of mobile phones to scan barcodes and add items to inventory. Simply log in to your Empress account and navigate to the Item master. From there, you can scan barcodes and add items directly from your smartphone.
