How to Create a New Video

Creating a new video in Empress is easy. Just follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the Video list and click on New.
  2. Enter a descriptive title for the Video.
  3. Choose the Provider (default is YouTube).
  4. Enter the URL of the Video.
  5. Optionally, specify the publishing date and duration of the Video.
  6. Write a brief description for the video.
  7. Click Save.

After saving, you can add an image or thumbnail for the Video. The saved video can be viewed directly from the Document.

Using Video Features

Tracking Video Analytics via YouTube

Empress provides a feature that lets you track and analyze YouTube Video statistics. This is an invaluable tool for monitoring the view count and engagement of a published Video.

To use this feature, first enable YouTube Tracking in Video Settings:

Video Settings > Enable YouTube Tracking

Upon enabling this feature, you will see API Key and Frequency fields.

The API Key is obtained from your Google Developers Console. The Frequency field lets you choose how often the system should automatically update your statistics.

In addition to automatic updates, the statistics are updated each time you save. Therefore, all Videos created or updated after enabling YouTube tracking will have their statistics updated upon saving.

YouTube Interactions Report

The YouTube Interactions Report gives you a consolidated view of all video engagements. This includes a bar chart that visually compares Likes versus Views. You can filter the report data by the Published Date range.

In Conclusion

The Video feature in Empress offers a powerful way to integrate and manage video content from YouTube and Vimeo, track video analytics, and view reports on video interactions. This feature enhances your business processes by providing an easy way to manage and monitor your video content, all in one place.
