From a business perspective, the Asset Maintenance Task feature is instrumental in scheduling and tracking the maintenance of your company’s assets. It allows you to assign tasks, set periodicity, track status, and even verify if a certificate is required.

Feature Overview

With the Asset Maintenance Task feature, you can:

  • Create and assign maintenance tasks: Assign tasks to specific individuals in your team.
  • Set and track maintenance schedules: Define the start date, end date, and periodicity of maintenance tasks.
  • Monitor the status of maintenance tasks: Track whether a task is planned, overdue, or cancelled.
  • Manage certificate requirements: Check whether a certificate is required for a particular maintenance task.

How to Use the Asset Maintenance Task Feature

  1. Creating a Maintenance Task:

    • Navigate to the Asset Maintenance Task page.
    • Click on the New button to create a new task.
    • Fill out the Maintenance Task field with a descriptive name for the task.
    • From the Maintenance Type dropdown, select either “Preventive Maintenance” or “Calibration” as per the task’s requirements.
    • Set the Maintenance Status as “Planned”, “Overdue” or “Cancelled”.
  2. Setting Maintenance Dates and Periodicity:

    • Set the Start Date for the maintenance task.
    • Choose the frequency of the task from the Periodicity dropdown. Options range from Daily to 3 Yearly.
    • Optionally, set an End Date for the task.
  3. Assigning the Task:

    • In the Assign To field, select the user responsible for this task.
    • The Assign to Name field will automatically display the full name of the selected user.
  4. Managing Certificate Requirements:

    • If a certificate is required for the task, check the box for Certificate Required.
  5. Tracking the Task:

    • The Next Due Date field will show when the task is due next based on the periodicity set.
    • The Last Completion Date field will display the date when the task was last completed.
  6. Describing the Task:

    • In the Description field, provide a detailed description of the task.
