Welcome to the Downtime Entry feature in Empress. This feature is designed to help you track and manage downtime events in your manufacturing operations, providing valuable insights into efficiency and productivity.

Understanding the Downtime Entry Feature

The Downtime Entry feature allows you to record instances of downtime at your workstations or machines. It’s a critical tool for managing operational efficiency, as you can identify reasons for downtime and implement strategies to minimize them. This feature is part of Empress’s broader suite of tools designed to streamline your manufacturing processes.

Using the Downtime Entry Feature

Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to use the Downtime Entry feature:

  1. Accessing the Downtime Entry Feature: Navigate to the Manufacturing module in Empress and select “Downtime Entry” from the dropdown menu.

  2. Creating a New Downtime Entry: Click on the “New” button to create a new entry. You’ll need to fill out the following fields:

    • Workstation / Machine: Select the workstation or machine where the downtime occurred.
    • From Time and To Time: Specify the period of downtime.
    • Operator: Identify the employee operating the machine during the downtime.
    • Stop Reason: Select the reason for the downtime from the dropdown list. Options include excessive machine setup time, unplanned machine maintenance, on-machine press checks, machine operator errors, machine malfunction, electricity down, and others.
    • Downtime: This field is auto-filled based on the From Time and To Time you’ve entered, showing the total downtime in minutes.
    • Remarks: You can add any additional comments or notes about the downtime event here.
  3. Once you’ve filled out these fields, click “Save” to record the downtime event.

Roles and Permissions

The Downtime Entry feature is accessible to the following user roles:

  • System Manager
  • Manufacturing User
  • Manufacturing Manager

These users have the permission to create, delete, read, write, and export downtime entries. They can also email, print, and share reports based on the data.
