Maximizing Cash Flow Using Empress Dunning Management

Welcome to our user-friendly guide on using the Dunning Management feature in Empress. From a business perspective, this feature is designed to streamline your process of managing overdue payments. It allows you to create and customize different types of dunning (overdue payment reminders), track and manage these reminders, and even calculate additional fees or interest for late payments.

What is Dunning Management?

In business, “dunning” refers to the process of methodically communicating with customers to ensure the collection of accounts receivable. Dunning Management in Empress is a feature that allows you to automate and manage this process effectively.

How to Use Dunning Management in Empress

  1. Creating a Dunning Type: Navigate to the Dunning Type section under the Accounts module. Click on New to create a new Dunning Type. Fill in the necessary fields such as Dunning Type (name), Dunning Fee, and Rate of Interest.

  2. Customizing Dunning Letters: In the Dunning Letter section, you can customize the body and closing text of your dunning letters. These letters can be used in print or sent electronically.

  3. Setting Accounting Details: In the Accounting Details section, select the appropriate Income Account and Cost Center for the Dunning Type.

  4. Making a Dunning Type Default: If you want a particular Dunning Type to be the default for all new dunns, check the Is Default box.

  5. Assigning Dunning to Customers: Once you’ve set up your Dunning Types, you can assign them to customers with overdue payments from the Customer module. This will automatically generate reminders based on the settings of the assigned Dunning Type.

  6. Tracking and Managing Dunning: All generated dunning can be tracked and managed under the Dunning section in the Accounts module.

User Roles and Permissions

Roles like System Manager, Accounts Manager, and Administrator have full access to create, delete, email, export, print, read, report, share, and write in the Dunning Management feature.
