Maximizing Efficiency with Empress' Packing Slip Feature

Introduction

Welcome to the Packing Slip feature in Empress! This guide will help you understand how this feature works and how to use it effectively for your business.

A Packing Slip is a crucial document that lists all the items included in a shipment. It’s particularly helpful when a shipment consists of multiple boxes, each containing different items. For example, if you’re sending out 20 chairs distributed across 4 boxes, you can create individual packing slips for each box.

This feature in Empress allows you to generate multiple packing slips from a single delivery note, streamlining your shipping process.

Getting to the Packing Slip List

To access the list of packing slips, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Home
  2. Click on Stock
  3. Open Tools
  4. Select Packing Slip

Note: To create packing slips from a delivery note, the delivery note should be in the Draft stage.

Before You Begin

Before creating a packing slip, it’s best to first create a Delivery Note.

How to Create a New Packing Slip

You can either create a packing slip from a delivery note in the Draft stage or manually. Here’s how:

  1. Go to the Packing Slip list and click on New.
  2. Select the Delivery Note.
  3. Enter the From Package No for this Packing Slip.
  4. Click on the Get Items button to get the Items and Quantities into the Items table.
  5. Click Save.

Most of these details will be filled in automatically if you create the Packing Slip from the Delivery Note.

Additional Options for Creating a Packing Slip

To Package No: If you are shipping multiple packages of the same type at the same time, set the From and To Package numbers. For example, package numbers 1 to 5 in one Packing Slip, then package numbers 6 to 10 in the next Packing Slip, and so on. This information will be displayed on the printed Packing Slip. Remember, this will only work if your Shipment contains that many quantities of the Items.
