Maximizing Website Item Management with Empress

Introduction

In today’s digital age, having a robust online presence is crucial for businesses. With Empress’s Website Item feature, publishing items online is as simple as clicking a button.

This guide will guide you through the process of creating, updating, and managing Website Items. By the end, you’ll be able to effectively utilize this feature to enhance your business’s online operations.

Introduction to Website Items

Website Items are individual products or services that you showcase on your website. Once you create a Website Item for a particular product or service, it is published on your website for visitors to see.

To publish an item, you need to have it available in your Empress inventory.

Publishing an Item

To publish an item, locate the Publish in Website button in the Actions section for every item that is not yet published. Once clicked, a Website Item is generated, and the item is published on your website.

To view the newly created Website Item, visit your-site-name/all-products. You can also view it directly on the website by clicking the See on Website link in the Website Item document.

Updating the Website Item

Once a Website Item is created, you can modify the information that appears on your website. This includes:

  • General Fields: Update the Website Item Name, the auto-generated Route, and the Published checkbox.
  • Display Images: Change the Website Image, add a Slideshow, and edit the Image Description.
  • Stock Information: Set the Website Warehouse, and enable the On Backorder option.
  • Display Information: Edit the Short Website Description, the Website Description, and the Website Specifications.
  • Display Additional Information: Create a tabbed section in the Product Details via the Display Additional Information section.

You can also add Recommended Items to draw attention to related products and create Offers to display coupon codes for customers.

Adding Price Details

Set prices for each Website Item via Item Price. Before doing so, ensure that Company, Price List, Default Customer Group are set in E Commerce Settings.

You can also create a Pricing Rule to show discounted prices.

Conclusion

The Website Item feature in Empress provides a user-friendly interface for managing your business’s online catalogue. By understanding how to use this feature, you can seamlessly publish, update, and manage your Website Items, thus enhancing your online operations and providing a better experience for your customers.
