Empress offers a powerful feature known as Material Consumption, designed to simplify the management of materials used in manufacturing processes. This guide is intended to guide business users through this feature, explaining its practical applications and how it enhances business operations.
Understanding Material Consumption
In manufacturing, keeping track of the materials consumed during the production process is crucial. Empress’s Material Consumption functionality allows you to create multiple consumption entries for each Work Order, providing a clear and comprehensive overview of your material usage. This feature helps in optimizing resource allocation, reducing wastage, and improving operational efficiency.
Activating the Material Consumption Feature
To enable this feature, first, open your Empress dashboard. Then, navigate to the Manufacturing section and select Manufacturing Settings. Once here, you can activate Material Consumption. After it’s activated, you will notice a new button labeled Material Consumption appearing in the initiated Work Order.
Utilizing Material Consumption
Clicking on the Material Consumption button triggers a series of actions:

Empress creates a new Stock Entry labeled as Material Consumption for Manufacture.

Depending on your settings, Empress either proposes to consume all required quantities for manufacture or all transferred quantities for manufacture.

After submitting, Empress updates the Consumed Qty field in the Work Order.

For subsequent material consumption, Empress suggests the quantities that are yet to be consumed.

Once you click the Finish button in the Work Order, Empress takes into account the consumed quantities.
Understanding the Rules
To ensure the effectiveness of this feature, there are certain conditions:

If the Allow Multiple Material Consumption setting is deactivated but Material Consumption for Manufacture is used in Stock Entry, Empress will not allow this action.

You cannot cancel Material Consumption for Manufacture for a completed Work Order.
