Personalizing Your Website with Empress Settings

Introduction

Welcome to this user-friendly walkthrough on how to navigate through the Website Settings feature in Empress. This feature enables you to customize your website to reflect your unique business needs and preferences. We will guide you on how to set up your landing page, personalize your website theme, brand your website, customize your top bar, set up banners and footers, and integrate with Google. We will also explain how you can use the HTML header, robots, redirects, and chat settings.

Accessing Website Settings

To navigate to the Website Settings, follow these steps:

  1. Click on Home
  2. Select Website
  3. Click on Setup
  4. Then, choose Website Settings

Setting Up Your Landing Page

The Home Page option allows you to choose the default landing page for your website. You can choose any route, such as home, about, contact, login, all-products, or blog.

To use the Empress Homepage as your landing page, simply set the Home Page field as home.

The Title Prefix option allows you to create a prefix that will appear in the browser tab for every page. This is a great spot to put your company name.

Setting Your Brand Logo

With Empress, you can easily set the brand logo for your website. Simply upload your brand image and then click on the “Set Banner from Image” button. This will generate a Banner HTML with your uploaded logo.

Setting Your Website’s Favicon

A favicon is a small, iconic image that represents your website which is displayed on the left side of the browser tab. Empress allows you to set your own favicon, enabling you to further customize your website.

Once you’ve set your brand logo and favicon, you can view your website by selecting the View Website button located in the action bar on the top right of your screen.

Customizing Your Website’s Top Bar

The Top Bar section in Empress allows you to fully customize the menu items in the navbar of your website.

Setting Up Your Website’s Banner

Through Empress, you can add a persistent banner to your website that will be displayed above the navbar on all web pages.

Configuring Your Website’s Footer

In the Footer section, you can add your business’s address information and categorized links to your website’s footer. You can also customize the “Footer Powered By” section to reflect your business’s unique branding.

Setting Up Automated Google Indexing

Empress allows you to authorize automatic Google indexing of your web pages whenever a new blog post or web page is created, updated, or trashed.

Enabling Google Analytics

By entering your Google Analytics ID from your Google Console in Empress, you can enable Google Analytics on your website.

Setting HTML Header

In Empress, you can set meta tags across all of your web pages. This is commonly used to add Google site verification tags.

Configuring Robots

In Empress, you can define robots.txt rules. This information is used by web crawlers to decide which pages to index and which to skip.

Setting Up Redirects

Empress allows you to define a mapping of route redirects. This ensures that if a user visits a specific URL, they will be redirected to a different URL.

Enabling Chat

Enable website visitor chat on your website in the Chat section. You can set the operational hours and assign chat operators who will be notified when a visitor sends a message.
