Quickly Integrate Paytm with Empress for Swift Transactions

Introduction

In the ever-evolving world of digital finance, having multiple payment options is a must for any business. To help your business thrive and provide a seamless experience for your customers, Empress has integrated Paytm, a leading payment gateway solution. This guide will guide you through the process of integrating Paytm into your Empress interface.

Understanding the Significance of Paytm Integration

Paytm integration allows your business to process payments through a range of options like credit/debit cards, UPI, Netbanking, or the Paytm Wallet. This ensures a smooth and swift transaction process for your customers, enhancing their overall experience.

To set up Paytm in your Empress interface, simply follow the path:

Integrations > Payments > Paytm Settings

Step 1: Activating Your Paytm API Credentials

First, you will need to obtain your API credentials from Paytm. These are unique identifiers that allow Empress and Paytm to communicate securely. Here’s how to get them:

  1. Log in to your Paytm account.
  2. Look for the Developer Settings option in the sidebar and click on it.
  3. Click on the API Keys option next. This will display your API details. You will see two types of API details - Test and Production.
  4. Make a note of the details under Production API. You will need to enter these in your Paytm Settings on Empress.

Step 2: Configuring Paytm on Empress

Once you have your API credentials, you need to enable the Paytm service on Empress. Here’s how:

  1. Navigate to the Paytm Settings on Empress.
  2. Enter all the required parameters that you received from Paytm.
  3. If you want to use the staging environment, select the Staging option and enter the test API developer credentials provided by Paytm.

Upon successful integration, Empress will automatically create a Payment Gateway record and an Account Head in the Chart of Account with the Account type as Bank.

Moreover, it will create a Payment Gateway Account entry. This serves as a configuration hub where you can set Account Heads and the default Payment Request email template for requesting payments from your customers.

Note on Transaction Currencies

Please note that Paytm integration will only work if your company’s currency is INR (Indian Rupee). Therefore, ensure to check your company’s currency setting before initiating the integration process.

Conclusion

Paytm integration with Empress not only simplifies the payment process but also enhances the overall customer experience. By following these easy steps, you can quickly integrate Paytm and start accepting multiple forms of payments from your customers.
