Streamlining Recruitment with Empress's Job Requisition

Introduction

In the world of business, efficient recruitment is key. Empress offers a feature known as Job Requisition to streamline your hiring process. This feature is essentially a formal request for a new hire within your organization, serving as a foundation for crafting job openings or for future budgeting and staffing plans.

Accessing Job Requisition

To get started with Job Requisition in Empress, follow this simple pathway:

Home > Human Resources > Recruitment > Job Requisition

What You Need to Know Beforehand

Before you dive into creating a Job Requisition, make sure you have already set up the following:

  • Designation: The job title or role you are looking to fill.
  • Department: The department where the new hire will be placed. This is optional but can provide additional clarity to your request.

Creating a Job Requisition: Step-by-Step

Here’s how you can create a Job Requisition in Empress:

  1. Go to the Job Requisition list and click ‘New’.
  2. Type in the Designation for the new hire.
  3. Fill in the Number of Positions, Expected Compensation, Company, and Department (if applicable).
  4. Choose the employee making the requisition in the ‘Requested By’ field.
  5. Optionally, you can set a date by which you expect to fill the position in the Expected By field.
  6. The Job Description will automatically match the Designation. If you need to add more details, this is the place to do it.
  7. Save your changes.

By default, the status of your Job Requisition will be set to Pending. You can set up workflows to change the status to Open & Approved as needed.

Taking Action

Creating a Job Opening

Once your Job Requisition status is Open & Approved, you can create a Job Opening based on your requisition or link it to an existing opening.

Linking an Existing Job Opening

If you have an existing Job Opening for the same Designation, you can link it to your requisition. Once the Job Opening is filled, the Job Requisition’s status will automatically update to Filled.

Key Features of Job Requisition

Checking Existing Employee Referrals

If there are existing Employee Referrals for the same Designation, consider these before creating new openings. Empress will display a banner on the Job Requisition form if such referrals exist, providing easy access to these potential candidates.

Including Job Requisitions in Your Staffing Plan

When creating a Staffing Plan, you can incorporate Pending or Open & Approved Job Requisitions directly into your future staffing and budgeting plans.

Time to Fill Metric

Empress automatically calculates the Time to Fill metric, indicating how many days it takes to fill a position from the Job Requisition posting date to when it’s marked as Filled. This valuable insight can help optimize your recruitment process over time.

In conclusion, the Job Requisition feature in Empress is a powerful tool to streamline your recruitment process. With its user-friendly interface and practical applications in everyday business operations, it’s a feature designed to enhance your business efficiency.
